My name is Catherine Reed, and I am a fourth-year teacher living in small-town, Kentucky. I student taught in 1st grade and never imagined myself being somewhere other than Primary Land. God had other plans for my life, and I was blessed with a 5th grade classroom four years ago. God is good and He is faithful. Intermediate Land was a fantastic place for me, and I fell in love with my kiddos, the content, and my teaching team. In 5th grade I was a 1:1 iPad classroom sans reading/writing curriculum and am proud to say I had the best classroom library around.
Moving schools/cities, I am now teaching in my hometown in 1st grade. Our school is the most lovely place – a Leader in Me school, brand new, amazing administrators, awesome team teachers. I am self-contained classroom, but we trade students for an hour a day for Reading and Math RtI.
Now, in my fourth year of teaching, I lead a combination K/1 class with 13 first graders and 11 kindergarten friends. It’s definitely a challenge but an amazing experience. I learn so much every day.
As a book nerd, a chocolate lover, and a pro napper, I am so glad you can join me for my fourth year of teaching. It’s is going to be fantastic.
