As a first-year teacher, there are literally a thousand ideas floating around in my head and my to-do list grows every day. Here are my top 10 Pinterest loves right now. You may click on the pictures to take you to the pin and I have linked the source below each idea! 🙂
1. This classroom library is so quaint and beautiful. I am in teacher love. [SOURCE]
2. Again, another stunning library area. Can you tell I love the blue and green room theme? Well, I saw my room for the first time….to say that there was a lot of yellow would be the understatement of the year. So, it looks like blue and green may be out the window for this year – boo. [SOURCE]
3. In the theme of classroom libraries, can you imagine the student buy-in if they walked into the classroom and saw their own ReadBox??? I’m all over this. [SOURCE]
4. I am still deciding what student book-bags will look like, and these containers (5 for $2 at Ikea) are a front runner. I love the green ribbon with the white box – very clean. [SOURCE]
5. Filing cabinets are so unattractive, and take up loads of room. I think this a super idea to use the back of the cabinet for students who miss work! [SOURCE]
6. Â So classy. So perfect. [SOURCE]
7.  This is such a simple way to track where students are in the writing process. Plus, it is perfect for writing workshop when all our friends are at different stages of writing. [SOURCE]
8. I am all about subway art. So cute, so fun, and so inexpensive. I have been collecting frames (from yard sales and attics) for a while and need to start spray painting them soon! [SOURCE]
9. Precious. Perfect. [SOURCE]
10. There is zero percent chance of me making this before August 17th, but a girl can hope, can’t she? I
{love} this idea and think it would be perfect for Word Work. [SOURCE]

We share the same pins! Yay! Congratulations on your first year! This was my first year, sort of, too. I taught middle school for 10 years and retired. Subbed a lot, then was lured back to the classroom last year – in second grade! I worked so hard – exploring blogs and TpT! Couldn't have survived without them!

I love the blue and green themed rooms too. My room is mostly green and blue. I think you could make it work with yellow- just be creative! If not, you could always do grey and yellow?! I guess that depends on what grade level you teach! Congratulations on your new job, by the way! 🙂
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Readbox. I want to go make one like, right now. Such a fun idea!
I use the Ikea boxes for my book boxes. They're so cheap! I just wish we had an IKEA nearby so I don't have to drive to Ohio to get them! I didn't put cute ribbon in them though. The only drawback with the Ikea boxes is that they start to fall apart after awhile. When I used them with my Kindergarteners, they weren't so bad, because we didn't use them as much. But when I used them in first grade last year, they fell apart and I spent a lot of time fixing them. This year, I did a little more work with teaching the kids how to hold them, get them out, etc… I also used clear contact paper around them (after the kids designed them!) to help hold them together a little better.

Love the scrabble board! Unfortunately, I just found it for sale for $12,000. If this is really in a classroom, that teacher obviously doesn't do it for the money!

What are the fluffly things hanging from the ceiling? I have seen them all over Pinterest and I want some! 🙂

I used the Ikea boxes with my middle school intervention students. They held up much better with clear packing tape on the bottom, or with colorful duct tape, which the kids enjoyed.
