Happy everything, friends! It’s 8 o’clock on a Sunday night, and that means in 90 minutes, I’ll be snoozing. In my new teacher life that is about as late as I can make it!
For the first 3 weeks, we have been using post-its as bookmarks, but my kids have started asking for “cool” bookmarks. But really, they ask daily for real bookmarks “You know, Ms. W – the ones that are shiny and have cool colors on the front.” This weekend I have had time to get my head above water and feel ‘on top’ of life, so… I got down to book-mark making. 🙂
Of course because we are in 5th grade and ‘BIG’ kids, they could not be cute. They have to be ‘cool’. Using KG’s Second Chances font, I was able to make a simple, yet eye-catching front that I think my kids will love. They will feel all grown-up. Since I made the fronts ‘cool’ for them, I added a little something on the back for me – reading strategy stems! Since we are writing weekly reading response letters , I am hoping these prompts will help my kids’ juices flow. 🙂
I have uploaded an editable file toTPT, so that you can make bookmarks for your own kiddos! Click here or the picture below to grab the file. 🙂 Also, make sure to check out all the other Monday Made It projects that Tara is highlighting!

Those bookmarks are so cute…I mean "cool"! And I like how you added the reading strategies to the back. Sneaky, sneaky! I'm going to have to download them and make them for my kiddos, too. Thanks for the freebie!
