#NashTeacherBash: Blogging Friends in Real Life

Happy Saturday, friends! Today was one of those bucket-filling days full of some of my favorite people. Two years ago I started blogging and took up residence in my little corner of cyber space. At the time, it never occurred to me that blogging world ever become ‘real’. Through TpT and the crazy community that has been built, it’s amazing to say that our cyber-worlds have become the real-world. Today was one day where I was reminded of the ‘real-world’ we’ve created – the Nashville Teacher Bash hosted by GoNoodle and ESGI Software!


We had 4 lovely hostesses and a ruggedly-handsome host for the day. Greg, Dana, Latoya, Alexandria, and Cindy did a fabulous job of reaching out to companies to sponsor the weekend, as well as, spread the word so that more than 65 teachers could join-in on the fun! 
A huge shout-out to GoNoodle and ESGI, presenting sponsors for the weekend, for treating us so well. We were spoiled to lunch and so many goodies to try-out in our classrooms. There were dozens of other companies that joined-in, too. From Eureka’s Strach-Off labels to a Hue’s Animation Studio to amazing Scholastic Books, our classrooms were spoiled! 
In addition to a GoNoodle Bag stuffed with goodies (even new Scentos Markers!), I won a fabulous Nashville-themed poster set from Hatch Show Prints (rumor on the street is that Hatch Show Prints will be dabbling in STEM-related resources this fall!). Annie and I are showing-off one of our favorite bluegrass bands below – Mumford & Sons! 

The best part of the day was the chance to connect with so many cyber friends in real life. Stacey is one of those amazing 1st grade cyber-turned-real-life friends! She is so full of spunk, love, and some serious talent. Plus, 10 days until we can visit again in Orlando and then, in a few more weeks – Vegas!

 As you can tell, it was a blast! I know the festivities lasted all weekend, but I needed to return to my little corner of Kentucky. It is amazing that there are THIS many connected educators and bloggers just in the Nashville area.

If you ever have a chance to attend a meet-up (whether you’re a blogger or not), definitely jump at the chance. It’s such a wonderful opportunity to build your network, get fabulous ideas, and make friends. Meet-ups are the perfect reminder that we – teachers – are all in this together! #cuethehighschoolmusicalsoundtrack

    I'm so glad that you got to come! I love those Hatch Print prints. Next time you come back, you should come and get the tour of the place. When I went to pick them up, she gave me such a great tour and it really excited me! 🙂 If you do anything cool with them at school make sure you send an email to kathy (at) hatchshowprint .com She is working on the awesome education part of their program.

    I am so jealous!!! I am from West TN and missed it! I am new to the blogging thing, but I want to be there next year! Looks like you had a great time! I have been to the Hatch Show Print place to see how they make those. They are fabulous! I will have to keep a look out for the STEM project they are doing! Glad you had a great time! Maybe I can meet you next year there!
