My teacher-heaven is filled with books – specifically, children’s picture books! A few weeks ago, I hit the lottery at the Scholastic Warehouse Sale. It was this gigantic warehouse of book goodness where every book was 50%-85% off the cover price. Sweeto cheeto – it was spectacular J Volunteering for 8.5 hours, I received an $85 voucher. Add that to the $25 off $100 coupon I had, I walked away with $110 in already-discounted books for a mere $1.64!!!! 72 BOOKS (14 of them hardback). 2 cents apiece. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR…I know!

Although the Winter sales have passed, no worries friends. Come this May, Scholastic will be fulfilling our dreams again. 🙂 Goodness, it gives me chills just thinking about it.

I am so glad I found your cute little blog! The name alone had me interested and then when I saw you were a new teacher, I knew I had to follow! I am a first year 2nd grade teacher over at That's So Second Grade! I LOVE love LOVE children's books and probably buy at least one new book every week. I collected books all throughout college and it has really paid off because I have class full of kiddos who love reading! I can't wait to read more on your blog!

Hi Ashley! Your comment has made my evening; thank you. I love your blog design; it's so happy 🙂 I cannot wait to spend more time reading it. And yay for book-buying additions. In the grand scheme of things, I always convince myself their are worse things to buy 🙂

What a cute little blog! This is wonderful! I am also beginning my student teaching experience on Tuesday (although in 4th grade). I will absolutely be reading your blog throughout our experience. This summer I volunteered at Scholastic for 72 hours… YES, $720 worth of books!!!! Needless to say, I am an avid book collector and have a home office at the moment filled with 1,082 children's books for my future classroom(s). Anyway… Nice to find your blog and you will be hearing from me continuously. I do not have a blog (one I keep updated anyway), maybe one day I will start it up again….

That is the best deal I have ever heard of. I may just be slightly jealous of you and that amazing steal right now. I think I need to get me to a Scholastic Warehouse sale this spring 🙂

My (Not So) Elementary Life
Nice blog.
Great information.
In 2002, based on need, Bookworm central moved into larger warehouses in Manassas, VA. From that time to now, the scope of work continues to expand to assist stakeholders in building and delivering customized literacy programs, providing an updated online shopping platform, operating as a bulk order fulfillment and distribution facility, exploring and developing technologies that support like-minded collaborators, and offering special services such as training’s, workshops, collection and content development for literacy supporters.
Your blog has piqued a lot of real interest. I can see why since you have done such a good job of making it interesting. I appreciate your efforts very much.
